Fieldstone Barn Fall Festival: Our First Market Experience

About The Fieldstone Barn

Last year, we visited The Fieldstone Barn in Elora for their Fall Market. Maybe it was the unique vendors, or perhaps the picturesque 17-acre property that features a beautifully preserved heritage fieldstone barn surrounded by flower fields, or maybe it was just the alpacas, but we fell in love with the place.

Just outside of Elora, Ontario, The Fieldstone Barn doubles as a working farm, event venue, and seasonal attraction, best known for its stunning sunflower fields, festivals, and charming farm market. The barn itself is an early stone structure of remarkable craftsmanship and carries both historical and architectural significance, giving the property a rural charm, and it’s only 20 minutes from Guelph.

@kindyogi

Since our visit last October, we’d talked about maybe participating in one of their markets as vendors. But we hesitated in fear that people would be confused about an optical shop at a farm festival. Neil’s longtime client-turned-friend Marjorie (aka @kindyogi) has been a vendor at the Fall Market for a few years now. She handcrafts beautiful knitted hats, scrunchies, and soulful gemstone bracelets, and she encouraged us to take the leap and join the vendor lineup this year. We’re so glad we listened.

We met so many lovely people, from fellow vendors to attendees. The atmosphere was full of warmth, and that unmistakable Elora charm. We enjoyed delicious smoothie bowls from Berry Bir & Beans, and took in the kind of community spirit that reminds you why local markets are so special.

Frame Favourites

We also brought along a small selection of eyewear to showcase what we carry in the shop. People loved trying on frames, and it was so fun seeing which ones caught everyone’s eye. Here are the most popular frames, according to the Fieldstone Barn Fall Festival crowd:
