A Safe Place to Shop

As more and more folks are discovering our independent eyewear shop in Guelph, we have been hearing about how difficult it can be to shop for glasses for Transgender and Gender Nonconforming individuals. Often, other optical shops or optometry practices will divide their frames by gender, having a section for “men” and a section for “women.” Sometimes shoppers are even forcibly directed to specific frames based upon perceived gender. We aim to earn the trust of our clients and provide a space where Queer folks can be their authentic selves and find eyewear that they love.

Shop by Style & Identity

Although we organize our frames by brand, sometimes shopping for a frame is about gender. If you are transitioning and looking for your first pair of gender affirming glasses, we want to help you find them. If you are looking for a style that leans more femme, masc, non-binary or anything in between, we also want to help you find them. And we love to see when someone effortlessly breaks gender norms; cat eyes are not just a feminine style and rectangular frames are not just a masculine style and round frames are not just a Harry Potter style. What we care about most is that the frames you choose feel, fit and look fantastic.

Consultation

We thoroughly enjoy providing all Queer folks with a fun and safe shopping experience. No appointment is necessary, but we are more than happy to schedule a time inside or outside of our regular working hours.

Queer and Ally-Owned

It is sometimes hard to trust a rainbow sticker on a window when you don’t know who vetted the company to ensure that they are a safe space for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We are a Queer and Ally-Owned optical shop and you can find us listed on Spectrum’s Rainbow Pages. You can find our shop at:
